Hello
friends,
As
many of you (students) have got the notification for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Organised by Indian
institute of Technology Bombay for 2021.
Lots of students may have already started preparing for the exam, but those who
are attempting this exam first time this post may give you certain guidelines
or short tips on how to prepare for Food
Technology GATE exams 2021. Today here we are going to provide GATE XE-G:
Food Technology and GATE XL-U: Food Technology Preparation Tips. We were also providing
an idea to prepare the GATE 2021 Exam.
The
very first step to prepare for exam is to decide for which subject you are
applying. There are two ways for Food Technology:
1) Engineering Sciences (XE)
In
this Paper section Engineering mathematics (Compulsory for 15 marks) and 2
optional subjects have to choose from the subjects: 1. Fluid mechanics 2.
Material science 3. Solid mechanics 4. Thermodynamics 5. Polymer science and Engineering 6. Food
Technology 7. Atmospheric and Oceanic sciences.
2) Life Sciences (XL)
In this Paper section Chemistry is (Compulsory for 25 marks) and any two optional subjects have to choose from the subjects: 1. Biochemistry 2. Botany 3.Microbiology 4. Zoology 5. Food Technology.
Understand Food Technology Syllabus and exam pattern
The syllabus and exam pattern are the two things that a GATE aspirant should always keep in mind and also prepare according to these two. GATE syllabus makes candidates familiar with the topics from which questions may be asked in the exam. The syllabus also helps students to prepare their study plan.
As far as the GATE exam pattern is concerned, it gives students an idea about how the examination will be conducted. Candidates can also have an idea about managing their time during the exam so that they can attempt the maximum number of questions. Aspirants can check the GATE 2021 exam pattern below:

- Choosing the Proper Study Material and Reference Books
During
preparation for GATE 2021, Choosing right study material is important. Particularly
for the (XL) Life science paper you can refer the Food Technology textbooks of your
undergraduate degree courses because the syllabus is somewhat similar for the
optional subjects. With concerned to compulsory subject as Chemistry in addition to other Reference Books you can also refer class 11th and 12th NCERT Books. However, for the Engineering
mathematics (XE) Paper other additional books will help you to solve all other possible
sorts of maths questions.
For
the preparation in GATE Exam, Candidates should study the reference and textbooks.
Below are some of the reference books for GATE (XE) and (XL) Food Technology
exam preparation.

- Prepare a Study Plan
Make
your own study schedule as per month wise plan, weekly plan and daily schedule
to prepare GATE Examination. Go for it until the exam is completed. A
personalised study schedule according to the candidate’s aptitude, topic-wise
weightage and syllabus should be created. A proper study schedule will help the
students to track their progress and know what is to be studied when and lessen
the chances of getting diverted from the preparation.
Candidates
can have daily and weekly targets in their study plan. Revision and mock tests
should also be given a place in the schedule.
If you
have 3 months of preparation time for the GATE exam, you can prepare 4-5 hours
per day.

- Revision and Previous Question Paper Solving
One
of the foremost important factors during preparation is revision. Candidates
must give enough time to revise every topic and chapter. Allot a couple of
hours in your daily study for revision. It’ll help in understanding the topics
better. Manage time during the Exam GATE is three hours long and therefore the
candidates should skills to manage their time.
The best source is to refer to the previous question papers and practice those model question papers. Practice few Mock Test Papers. When we refer to the previous question papers then we automatically know the important topics & type of the questions.
